“The feeling you are going through it with them: This book takes you into a fantasy world where reality and past experiences intermix I like that it has you thinking whether or not you are dealing in reality or not. Just what they must be feeling. When they are trying to escape into a time they have some control. You watch your loved one become fearful, upset and at times content. Trying to understand how and why they are reacting to you or a situation is hard for us and them. We only try and help and keep them safe, which is not always what they believe they need. The fantasy part takes you away and into a different world, very detail oriented, where you actually can imagine one being. Beautiful cover.”

“Couldn’t go to sleep without finishing! What I liked about this book “Tree in a Heather Field” was that it transported me to some of what my Mum may have been experiencing throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. I had read so much about this cruel disease but this book detailed in beautifully deep ways, what it might actually be like for a person with Alzheimer’s.

My favorite aspect was the transitioning between current, past and some fantasy, this is what was so therapeutic for me, because we saw it and lived it alongside my mother. I very much enjoyed it and know that this is one I will read again and again!”
